“Walking in Memphis”

Arriving in Memphis we were slap worn out. Days of traveling, our first time on the road, and schedules to keep meeting up with the family. We had planned on staying one night and then moving on to our planned adventures. Well… the great part of not making reservations is being able to change your whole game plan. We ended up staying three nights to get rested up and see all the sites we discovered after being in Memphis. Yes, we missed our planned stops but this is not going to be our only chance out and about.

We stayed at Graceland RV park where they had Elvis playing 24/7. One night turned into three nights spent watching movies, eating barbecue, exploring the town, and planing out our new route to Texas. We were tired and hungry when we arrived so discovering that Marlowe’s would pick you up for free in a pink limousine was a no brainer. We shared a rack of ribs and we enjoyed the food so much we grabbed lunch there another day. We also stumbled upon some great Cajun fried fish in a gas station of all places. Battle Above the Clouds

One thing that has driven our travels in the recent years is the National Park Service. Each location has a cancellation stamp and many have corresponding informational stamps. Passport To Your National Parks is a great program that has helped us find many locations rich in history, views, and activities. Point Park did not disappoint us. I have always wanted to go to Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga but decided to skip the main tourist location and ventured farther up the mountain.
